Peer pressure is the pressure faced by the adolescents to act, behave and think in a particular way. If you are a teenager, then you must be facing an enormous amount of pressure to behave like your peers. The scenario is as follows. There will be a group of friends and they are always together. Sometimes one comes up with an idea and convinces others to implement it. But then one person might not feel comfortable about the idea but thinks he need to follow his friends. This thought of following something which does not match with one’s ideas/ beliefs will build into pressure. It is always better to stand up and voice one’s opinion. This might be difficult and scary initially. The reason to fear is that one might loose his friends. This fear of being excluded from friends circle makes one shut up. But one must draw the necessary courage to voice his displeasure. There may be a number of people in the group who are not interested in this idea but fear to voice their opinions. If one voices his opinion, then the rest may follow lead. It is always better not to do something which is against your beliefs and principles. A simple question, do you like a bunch of flowers of the same color or of different colors? I like something which is of different colors because they are very pleasing to the eyes. Similarly it is not necessary that all the friends in a group be alike in their thoughts and as a result be proud to be different!
