Role of an NGO

We have a number of uneducated people in our society. How do we educate them? There is a need to first educate people on the importance of education. This must be carried out by professionals, because they will obviously know how to convince. The governments are too busy, talking about developments and plans. They obviously can’t take up the task of convincing people, because they have to attend to many jobs. There is a need for common man to step in to convince and educate people. This is where a NGO steps in. They are Non Government Organizations set up by individuals who dream to serve the country and thus the world. They strive to achieve their goals, with little or no help from governments. But these days the governments have understood, the importance of NGO’s in creating a peaceful society. There are different types of NGO’s which are charitable ngo’s, participatory ngo’s, community based ngo’s and international ngo’s. This classification is provided by WHO. The ultimate aim of educational ngo’s is to empower the people with wisdom which will make them take correct decisions in life. It is to teach them about health, basic amenities, women empowerment, family planning programs and so on. Education is just not about learning the alphabet, but striving to implement the wisdom gained from it in our lives. This is what the NGO’s also try to implement!
